Land & Building Needs

Grace Episcopal Mission continues to meet and exceed primary goals as set forth from the very beginning of the congregation’s existence. Adopted early on as our primary goal and reflected in our mission statement, Grace successfully and continuously reaches out in service to the needy and unchurched populations. Through our active and faithful relationship with God, we have come to realize the joy, love, and challenges involved in following His lead. By freely giving of our own time and opening our hearts to a truly great cause, we have found our place in service to the inhabitants of Clayton, Johnston County, and beyond. We lift our praises to God and recognize His power and love for allowing Grace to wrap its arms around individuals, families, and groups and successfully journey with them through both joyful and tragic times.

As our diversely talented membership continues to grow in faith and numbers, we must accept the inevitable fact that our own structure is a necessity and seriously begin the search for a building site from which our mission will continue. This will not be an easily attainable goal as land in and around our community is scarce and very costly. However, through prayer, faith, positive focus on our own self-imposed mission charter, and in joining the active call of our Bishop in “making disciples making a difference,” we are well equipped to begin the search.

Initiatives are under way in the form of fund raising and advertising. Contact has been made with area land owners and realtors. Individual and corporate contributions are coming in. But much more is needed and the public can help.

Grace has no commitment to any specific location. We desire to build in or near Clayton because the majority of our membership comes from that area and therefore our home base for service naturally evolved there. In addition, population surveys and continued growth potential reveal the need for an Episcopal presence there.

What is Needed

Ten acres. We feel this is the minimum space needed for relatively long-term growth. An existing adequate building would be gratefully considered.

Funding. All tax-exempt gifts, donations and/or contributions of any amount will be set aside exclusively for the purpose of land acquisition and/or building

Who Can Help

Individuals, organizations, groups, clubs, estates, local corporations and small businesses

Landowners, property and community developers, banks or other financial institutions.

Ways to Help

Assist in our search for land; inform us of a potential location you know about.

Contractors and developers may desire an Episcopal congregation in the community.

Pray for Grace's continuing outreach programs.

Consider donating the land and taking comfort in knowing who your neighbor will be.

Consider visiting and opening your minds to the possibility of joining, growing and serving with us.

Thank you for your help and generosity!
